  1.     This command lets you direct a message to a certain user.  This works just
  2. like a WHISPER, except that the text will be sent to everybody in the same chat
  3. channel as you, and will not be private.  The user you are directing a message
  4. to must also be in the same chat channel as you.

  6.     There are two forms of this command:  short and long.  Both function the
  7. same way.  An example usage of each is as follows:

  9. DIRECT TO <username> <text>
  10. ><username> <text>

  12.     The first line is the long form, and the second is the short.  In both
  13. forms, <username> is the name of any user in your chat channel.  You need only
  14. type the first n characters, where n is the number of characters that will
  15. distinguish the user's name from all of the other users in the same chat
  16. channel as you.  <text> is the message you want to direct to the user.  If
  17. <username> is valid and the user has not forgotten you with the FORGET command,
  18. the <text> will appear to everybody as if you were talking to that user
  19. directly.

  21.     To see how this command works, try directing a message to yourself.  This
  22. command can come in really handy in crowded chat channels with several
  23. different conversations going on at once.
